Queen Revealed As Big Brother Contestant

23rd May 2004

In a shocking announcement from Endemol UK, the production company behind Big Brother, the Queen of England, Her Royal Highness Elizabeth II, was revealed to be the first new contestant into the Big Brother house of 2004.

A press release from Channel 4 said: "This is a calculated move to boost ratings for the show and will bring yet more groundbreaking television to Channel 4."

The reality television show was a huge hit in 2000 but has since gone to ever more desperate lengths to make headlines and hold the public's interest.

We, here at The Taxman wanted to know how Endemol UK had managed to persuade Her Majesty to be a part of BB5, so we went to Buckingham Palace and a spokesperson for the Royal Family told us: "The Queen was delighted to be invited to Big Brother, as she had always wanted one to play with ever since her childhood."

Without wanting to give anything away, we quickly left the palace in a black cab.

What other contestants could possibly be in Big Brother this year? To find out watch Big Brother 5 from 28th May, or if you have something better to do, do that.
